2015 Biggest Book Show on Earth: Rhyl

A thousand children from schools in Denbighshire and Conwy descended on Rhyl Pavilion on 25 February to witness the Biggest Book Show on Earth, part of this year’s World Book Day celebrations. This year’s event was bigger than ever in scope and size, featuring over 40 top children’s authors and illustrators and visiting ten locations throughout the UK and Ireland, including Bath, Glasgow and Dublin.

Each stop on the tour gave local children a chance to hear the experiences and enjoy the company of their favourite authors and illustrators, including Steven Butler, Jonny Duddle, Jon Mayhew, Shoo Rayner and Heather Dyer. Both Shoo Rayner and Heather Dyer have recently had their books published by newly-established Firefly Press, one of the publishers supported by the Books Council.
Waterstones were also in attendance with a book stall where all the children could purchase a book by one of the authors and get it signed after the show.
