Welsh sporting stars launch World Book Day selfie challenge
Welsh rugby stars George North and Scott Williams, together with their coach Robin McBryde, launched the World Book Day selfie challenge this week, ready for the big day on 5 March.
The 2015 World Book Day campaign sees the launch of the World Book Day selfie challenge #bookselfie. The challenge, as taken by George, Scott and Robin, sees participants reading a book, taking a selfie and posting it to #bookselfie @DYLLcymWBDwales.
Your selfie can be of you reading your favourite book, or why not take a #bookselfie of yourself reading in an unusual location?
‘We are all aware of selfies nowadays on Facebook and Twitter,’ said Angharad Thomas, Reading Promotions Officer for the Welsh Books Council, ‘but with the help of the WRU this year we’ve launched our very own selfie campaign.
‘Our aim is to encourage children, adults, parents and teachers across Wales to take a selfie of themselves reading, and upload it to our Twitter feed @DYLLcymWBDwales #bookselfie. By creating a visual collection of #bookselfies we aim to show the world that people across Wales, of all ages, love to read and enjoy reading all sorts of books.’
What to do:
- Read a book
- Take a selfie
- Upload it to Twitter #bookselfie @DYLLcymWBDwales
Need some inspiration? You can watch videos of George, Scott and Robin taking part in the challenge on the World Book Day Twitter feed @DYLLcymWBDwales from St David’s Day onwards.
Think you can do better? Why not upload your #bookselfie by 5 March for a chance to win a Welsh Rugby Shirt (child’s size)?
Take up the #bookselfie challenge – let’s get Wales reading!
